General

What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. For myotherapy treatments, you may need to undress to your comfort level (towels and draping are always provided for privacy). For pregnancy massage, I'll ensure you're comfortable and well-supported throughout.
How long is an initial consultation?
Your first appointment is a full hour. This includes a thorough physical assessment, muscle testing, range of motion evaluation, and your first treatment. Follow-up appointments can be 30 to 90 minutes depending on your needs.
Do I need a referral to see a myotherapist?
No referral is needed. You can book directly through the online booking system. However, if you have private health insurance, check with your provider about coverage for myotherapy treatments.
Where is the clinic located?
I'm based in Frankston South, Melbourne (Victoria). The exact address will be provided when you book your appointment. There is ample free parking available.

Clinical Myotherapy

Does dry needling hurt?
You may feel a brief twitch or ache when the needle reaches a trigger point — this is actually a positive sign that the treatment is working. Most people find it very manageable. After treatment, you might experience some local soreness similar to a post-workout feeling, which typically resolves within 24-48 hours.
How many myotherapy sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your condition, its severity, and how long you've had it. Some people notice significant improvement after just one session, while chronic conditions may require a series of treatments. I'll discuss a treatment plan with you at your initial consultation.
Is myotherapy covered by private health insurance?
Many private health insurance providers cover myotherapy under their extras policies. Check with your provider about your specific level of cover. I can provide receipts for you to claim through your fund.

Pregnancy Massage

Is pregnancy massage safe?
Yes, when performed by a qualified practitioner. As a clinical myotherapist, I have extensive training in anatomy and understand the physiological changes of pregnancy. Pregnancy massage is generally recommended from the second trimester onwards. I use specialised positioning and pregnancy-safe techniques throughout.
How often should I get a pregnancy massage?
Many clients find monthly sessions beneficial during the second trimester, increasing to fortnightly in the third trimester when physical demands on the body are greatest. However, this varies based on your individual needs — we'll find a schedule that works for you.
